Launch of the 75th Anniversary
CTC Academy is thrilled to celebrate 75 years of our mission of enhancing the lives of children and young adults with special needs, and their families, by providing an enriched educational, therapeutic and supportive environment.
From How We Started…
Recognizing the need for therapy for children with cerebral palsy, Dr. George G. Beaver established a clinic in the Ridgewood offices of the American Red Cross, which quickly grew as more children required these services. By 1950, CTC Academy—then called The Cerebral Palsy Center—signed a 99-year lease with the Ridgewood Hospital Association (now The Valley Hospital) to build its first facility.
To Where We Are Now…
Today CTC Academy offers two schools and follows the school continuum from Preschool through age 21 as well as Early Enrichment for children ages 18 months through 3 years. Our Fair Lawn campus offers Early Enrichment, a State-Approved Preschool, and a K-2 Program, while the Oakland campus provides State-Approved Grades 2-12 and a Transition Program for students ages 18-21 and beyond. We are currently serving 160+ students from 65 towns across 8 counties in New Jersey.
We’re kicking off a yearlong celebration of CTC Academy’s 75th Anniversary! Stay tuned as we share highlights from our history and exciting plans for the future.
