Our Therapy Services
At both campuses, CTC Academy provides dynamic therapeutic services based on the student’s IEP (Individual Education Program). We foster a collaborative therapeutic approach that incorporates all members of the educational team, enabling our students to participate and reach their fullest potential in the school environment. All CTC Academy therapists are licensed professionals who are certified by the NJ Department of Education. Our school offers therapeutic services in Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Speech and Language Therapy.
Our Occupational Therapists enable students to meet challenges they face in the classroom and community by adapting the environment, using assistive technology and providing specialized equipment. Functional goals are established for each student to work on fine motor and visual motor development, sensory processing abilities, daily living and vocational skills, as well as play and leisure skills to support their success in school and community life.
Our Physical Therapists encourage students to achieve their greatest success in the area of functional mobility skills. Therapy sessions focus on improving gross motor skills, muscle strength, flexibility, endurance, balance and locomotion to promote the maximum level of skill and independence. Adaptive equipment is also utilized to further enhance student’s capabilities and participation in all learning opportunities.
Our Speech Language Pathologists strive for all of our students to develop skills in the area of communication. Therapy sessions focus on the areas of oral motor function, speech productivity, social communication, expressive, receptive language development and feeding skills. Alternative and/or augmentative means of communication may be incorporated into therapy and utilized to encourage total communication.
