The CTC Academy’s 29th Annual Gala – Soar – to honor John “Jack” Heinzmann and Mary Ann Zino.

On June 8, 2023 The CTC Academy will celebrate their 29th Annual Gala Dinner Dance and Silent Auction at the Venetian in Garfield, NJ. This year’s theme will be Soar. Our honorees will be lifetime supporters John “Jack” Heinzmann and Mary Ann Zino.

In 1954, Jack Heinzmann was a student and a “poster boy” for The CTC Academy (then, The Cerebral Palsy Center, Bergen County). Jack, a long-time Elks member, Past Exalted Ruler and volunteer, created a goal of raising $50,000 to celebrate the anniversary of his 50th year since he was a poster boy. Since then, he’s kept going, raising hundreds of thousands of dollars to support CTC’s mission! CTC’s connection with the Elks is very fitting as one of the very first CTC Directors was an Elk. The Elks were volunteers and supporters at the very start. We are thrilled to honor Jack Heinzmann for his tireless work educating the community about CTC’s good work.

Mary Ann Zino, who is also an Elk member, was initially introduced to The CTC Academy as a little girl when her brother, Jack, attended as a student but her many years of service and contributions to the organization stand alone. Mary Ann started as a classroom volunteer at CTC and later became the longest-serving board president in our organization’s history. For
over 30 years, Mary Ann has seen CTC through every stage of its development. She can recall a time when there were three small classrooms and the board discussed paying the bills and “…keeping the lights on!” Mary Ann, Brian T. and the entire Zino family have generously supported CTC’s events and efforts over the years and Mary Ann’s hard work and dedication are integral to CTC’s continued growth and sustainability. She continues to serve as a board member and we gratefully acknowledge her contributions to CTC as we honor her this year.

Please join us to celebrate our honorees, our community and our mission! To purchase tickets, sponsorships, digital ad journals or to find out more information about this event visit our website at https://ctcacademy.org/fundraising-events
